Hours
Our standard working week is 37 hours. We operate flexi-time systems and
other family-friendly policies including reduced hours, career break and
special leave arrangements to help people manage their worklife balance
and caring responsibilities.
Annual leave
Depending on grade and length of service staff receive between 20 and
29 days holiday a year, plus public holidays and two extra statutory days
leave at Christmas and New Year.
Relocation
We offer a generous relocation package, which is currently around £6,000
and includes contribution towards legal and other fees, furniture removal
and lodgings.
Car Allowance
A car mileage allowance scheme is available to categorised users, and
an assisted care purchase scheme is available to all staff.
General Social Care Council Register
We reimburse the GSCC registration fee of those employees who are required
to have a social work qualification as an essential requirement of their
role.
Clearances
All appointments are subject to medical and reference checks and Criminal
Records Bureau clearances where applicable.
Pension
Employees have an opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
in which employees contribute 6% of their gross earnings.
Training and Development
We offer internal and external training and development opportunities
to all staff at every level and in every job within the Directorate.
