Best value reviews

Best Value was launched by the government in 2000 to ensure public services are continuously working to improve everything they do. This means that the services provided by Social Services must be of good quality, efficient, economic and effective.

Best Value Reviews look at four areas to help us improve our services :

• Challenge the reasons why and how we provide services
• Compare our performance against the targets we have set ourselves, and against other County Councils or private organisations
• Consult with residents, groups of service users and businesses making their priorities our priorities.
• Compete - helping to secure effective services and fair competition
