Home The Heroes

As part of the National Year of Reading, Libraries across Lancashire have been identifying Reading Heroes.

Anybody can be a Reading Hero, you just have to be prepared to pass on your passion for reading.

Our current heroes include a fire & rescue team, a lollipop lady, a vicar, stand-up comedienne Jo Brand, the entire team of BBC Look Northwest, oh and the PM himself, Gordon Brown.

We also have a range of Listening Heroes, those who love books but perhaps struggle with reading print.

On the following pages we have displayed a small sample of Reading Heroes from across the County, click on their name to read their recommendations or sometimes a full interview conducted by County library and information staff.

If you want to follow up on a Reading Hero’s recommendation remember to check out your local library.
