A MORI poll was conducted for all CICs to assess the effectiveness of the service. The study gave a detailed picture of customers' views of the Service and their level of satisfaction with the service provided.

  • Over half of all those interviewed (56%) used the CICs for transport information.
  • Tourist information was the second most popular reason for visiting an CIC. Four out of five people knew about CICs (85%).
  • Three out of five knew Lancashire County Council was responsible for providing the CICs (61%).
  • Four out of five people visited the Lancaster CIC (81%), Preston CIC (86%), Burnley CIC (94%) or Nelson CIC (85%) for transport information.
  • Half of the visitors at the CICs in Ribble Valley (51%), Lytham (49%), and Morecambe (52%) visited for tourist information.
  • Helpfulness of staff was positively commented on in all CICs.
  • Overall satisfaction was 95%.
