Whilst
each of the School Crossing Patrol staff are valued members of their school
community, how often do we take a few moments to think about the valuable service
performed by these dedicated front-line staff?
Come hail, rain and snow these dedicated men and women cross our children daily to and from school in safety. On todays busy roads it takes special qualities to step out and stop traffic and keep the attention of children until they are crossed safely.
Each patrol represents one of the friendliest public faces at the heart of the community and this is in no small part due to their own dedication and goodwill.
Since the service transferred from Lancashire Constabulary great efforts have been made to re-equip crossing staff, fill vacancies and build a bank of cover staff to support the service. Lancashire County Council is committed to provide a school crossing patrol service second to none. In the constant battle to achieve 100% service delivery applications would be welcome from persons with the necessary qualities from amongst their local community. By these efforts we will continue to ensure we maintain a strong and effective service to serve our most important customers - the children!
