For the disabled person, going places can be difficult. The Environment Directorate understands this and, through its Mobility Officer, problems are being overcome with:-

Wheel Chair Icon Uncluttered and obstacle-free pavements

Wheel Chair Icon Tactile Paving at pelican and zebra crossings

Wheel Chair Icon "Touch-and-Walk" systems for safe crossings

Wheel Chair Icon Protection of pedestrians at all road-workings
