(B6239 ST MATTHEW STREET, BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008
EXTENSION OF ORDER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by the Lancashire County Council on Monday 11th August 2008, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over that length of B6239 St Matthew Street, Burnley, for a distance of 25 metres from its junction with Manchester Road in a north westerly direction, in the Borough of Burnley, will now be in operation until 17.00 hours on Friday 17th October 2008, or until completion of the works within this period.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -

Manchester Road – Scott Park Road - Coal Clough Lane.  

Access for residents shall remain at all times.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent gas main renewal.
