Traffic Regulation Order

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CAMBRIDGE AVENUE, SHREWSBURY DRIVE, LANCASTER, LANCASTER CITY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over that length of:-

  1. Cambridge Avenue, Lancaster, from its junction with Shrewsbury Drive, to a point 50 metres north east of its junction with Bowerham Road and
  2. Shrewsbury Drive, Lancaster, from its junction with Cambridge Avenue, for a distance of 110 metres in a north easterly direction, in the City of Lancaster.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -

Cork Road – Cranwell Avenue – Bowerham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow sewer repair works to be carried out.

The prohibition will be operative from 06.00 hours on Monday 27th October 2008 until 17.00 hours on Friday 31st October 2008, or until completion of the works within this period.
