(C639 BLACKBURN ROAD AREA, ACCRINGTON, HYNDBURN BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over the following roads, in the Borough of Hyndburn, specified in the second column of the Schedule to this notice.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closures are specified in the third column of the Schedule to this notice.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the closures.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the safe resurfacing of Blackburn Road, Accrington.
The prohibition will be operative over the following periods:
Phase 1 – 09:30 hours on Thursday 16th October 2008 to 23:59 hours on Wednesday 22nd October 2008 and 00:00 hours on Sunday 26th October 2008 to 23:59 hours on Wednesday 29th October 2008,
Phase 2 – 00:00 hours on Thursday 23rd October 2008 to 23:59 hours Saturday 25th October 2008 and 00:00 on Thursday 30th October 2008 to 23:59 hours on Sunday 2nd November 2008, or until completion of the works.
AND FURTHER, during Phase 2 of the said works, temporary one-way traffic will be in force on Blackburn Road, as detailed in the schedule to this notice.
AND FURTHER, during the periods of the said works on Portland Street, Steiner Street and King Street, the one-way traffic orders in respect of those lengths of those roads as detailed in the Schedule to this notice, will be temporarily suspended for the respective phase of the works.
