THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(NEW LANE LEVEL CROSSING, BURSCOUGH, WEST LANCASHIRE DISTRICT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO 2) 2008
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council consider it necessary or expedient by reason of works being executed on the following length of road that the prohibition should come into force without delay and have, under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, temporarily prohibited any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian from proceeding over New Lane Level Crossing, Burscough, in the District of West Lancashire.
An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
New Lane – Marsh Moss Lane – Tarlscough Lane – Red Cat Lane – A59 Moss Lane – A570 Liverpool Road North – A59 Liverpool Road South – Higgins Lane and vice versa.
Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary closure is necessary to allow maintenance works to be carried out on the level crossing.
The prohibition of vehicular traffic will operate from 0015 to 0845 hours on Sunday 5th October 2008.
