Traffic Regulation Order

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(EAST PARADE, MILLGATE ROAD, RAWTENSTALL, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over that length of:

  1. East Parade, Rawtenstall, from a point 17 metres north of its junction with Grange Street to its junction with Millgate Road, Rawtenstall
  2. Millgate Road from its junction with East Parade for a distance of 25 metres in a north easterly direction, in the Borough of Rossendale.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -

  1. Grange Street – Grange Crescent – Bank Street – Millgate Road
  2. Newchurch Road – Bank Street – Millgate Road

Access to properties will be maintained at all times.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow sewer connection works to be carried out.

The prohibition will be operative from 08:00 hours on Monday 6th October 2008 until 16:00 hours on Sunday 9th November 2008, or until completion of the works within this period.
