Traffic Regulation Order

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CHEAPSIDE AND CHAPEL WALKS, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over those lengths of road, in Preston, specified in the first column of the Schedule of this Notice.

The main alternative routes for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure are specified in the second column of the Schedule of this Notice.

Access to properties will be maintained where possible.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas main replacement works to be carried out.

The prohibition will be operative from 0001 hours on Wednesday 17th September 2008 until 0000 hours on Sunday 19th October 2008, or until completion of the works within this period.
Indicative dates for the period of the road closures are specified in the third column of the Schedule of this Notice.

AND FURTHER, during the period of the said works, the one-way traffic Order in respect of Cheapside, will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the said road closure.
