Traffic Regulation Order

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RUFFORD LEVEL CROSSING, B5246 STATION ROAD, RUFFORD, WEST LANCASHIRE DISTRICT)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over that length of B5246 Station Road at the Rufford Level Crossing, in the District of West Lancashire.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -

B5246 Meadow Lane – Rufford Road – Hall Lane – Chorley Road – Lancaster Lane – A5209 Alder Lane – Course Lane – Briars Lane – A59 Liverpool Road North – Moss Lane – Causeway Lane – Station Road and Vice versa.  

Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow level crossing maintenance to be carried out.

The prohibition will be operative from 2145 hours on Saturday 19th April 2009 until 0625 hours on Monday 21st April 2009, or until completion of the works within this period.
