Traffic Regulation Order

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(GREENBANK STREET AND AQUEDUCT STREET, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2008

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding over the following length of roads in the City of Preston:
1) Greenbank Street, Preston from its junction with Aqueduct Street for a        distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction.

2)Aqueduct Street, Preston in an easterly direction only from its junction with Brook Street to its junction with Shelly Road.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -

1) For Greenbank Street – Murray Street – Brook Street and vice versa

2) For Aqueduct Street – Fylde Road – Fylde Street – Moor Lane and Aqueduct Street

Access to properties will be maintained where possible.

The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas main renewal works to be carried out.

The prohibition will be operative from Monday 8th August 2008 until Sunday 2nd November 2008, or until completion of the works if earlier.
