The Environment Directorate provides a wide and diverse range of services covering highways and transportation, planning, and public protection activities.
We are here to promote, support and contribute to making Lancashire a good place to live, work and visit, now and in the future. A place where everybody matters. A place where people can feel safe, live healthy lives, get help when needed, learn and develop, have jobs and a good standard of living, travel easily and safely, and enjoy a high quality environment.
Our business plan provides a strategic overview of Environment Directorate services and how they contribute to the County Council’s corporate objectives. Service plans are also being produced to develop the issues and priorities set out in this plan.
Our plans are addressed to two principal audiences. Firstly they provide the overall direction for staff and management in the Environment Directorate, Secondly, they are addressed to our partners and stakeholders to provide both a view of what we do, and also the opportunity to comment and contribute to the shaping of the future development of business planning in the Environment Directorate.
The Environment Directorate has a business plan which sets out its strategic direction. It details how we do things within the directorate, such as communication and health and safety, rather than giving details of specific services. This plan also identifies how the directorate will deliver the Corporate Objectives.
