Damage to Sites
All the sites in this listing are protected under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act of 1979. The legislation prohibits any damage or alteration to the structures without the permission of the appropriate Secretary of State. It also forbids removal of any material from site, the use of metal detectors and other such instruments, and the digging of holes.
