Grant Aid for Youth and Community

1. Progress Report

The Youth and Community Service has conducted a review of its priorities for grant funding and produced a comprehensive funding framework proposal document upon which it intends.to consult with the voluntary youth sector during March to June 2007.

You may be aware that the Youth and Community Service will be merging with Connexions Lancashire over the spring/summer period 2007 to form the County Councils Integrated Youth Support Service. This new service will therefore oversee the arrangements for the provision of financial support to the VCFS and the implementation of the final agreed funding framework following the consultation. You should note therfore that new criteria will be in place for funding applications in 2008/9.

A copy of the proposed funding framework is available from our website at www.lancsycs.org. Copies can be made available on request by contacting Mark Woodruff on Tel 01772 532821.

2. Provision of grant funding in 2007

Applications are sought from the voluntary sector to support work with young people during the funding period April 2007 to March 2008 (Currently July 2007 to June 2008 in the case of applications for strategic funding).

  • Development funding can be for core costs or one-off projects.
  • Project funding;

(Please refer to Information Sheet 1 for definitions of these different types of funding)

The total funding available during this funding period is anticipated to be £231,000 (subject to Cabinet approval during 2007/8 revenue budget process).
