How are Complaints Investigated?

The Complaints Procedure has two stages:

  • Stage 1 - the Service Directorate investigates.

  • Stage 2 - the complaint is considered by a Committee of the County Council.

We have adopted definitions and processes set out in the Lawrence Enquiry Report to deal with any complaints about race. For example, if a complainant believes that a cause of a complaint is racial, we will initially treat it as such.
